Microchips offer permanent, unique and unalterable means of identifying horses, goats, sheep, or deer. The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and contains a passive transponder programmed with a unique 15 digit number, compliant with ISO Standards 11784 and 11785.
Deer's ears are fragile- handle with care and apply tags carefully. Using an antiseptic solution will often help healing time after tags are applied. Always wash hands before application and keep tags clean and store appropriately.
State Unique Numbers
Some states require a State, Herd or Unique number imprinted on Deer Ear Tags. These required numbers can be imprinted above a large herd management number or used as the management number. Herd numbers are often put on the back of Deer ear tags or imprinted on the button.
Some Deer Ear Tags are used as Advertising with a brand or logo.
